It’s actually a real, hot shower – with over 15h run time on a single gas tank. Even in winter, Camplux’s 34,000-BTU burner will give you a steaming hot shower at the flick of a switch. And with up to 6 litres per min of flow, it’ll get through any head of hair.
It works great. Water is plenty hot. The one I bought last year stopped working right after the warranty expired, of course. Buying a new one was quicker and easier than fixing the old one. I kept the old one for parts. Hopefully this one lasts more than one season. . It gets very little use.
Bought this water heater for my teardrop trailer so I can have hot water for dishes and or showers. It's very compact and works great with my Waterport air pressure water tank. The shower head was shipped broken so I contacted support and they shipped a new one to me within a few weeks. Great product and customer service.
Product works great for our camper and the customer service at camplux is outstanding! Helped me with my order and questions in detail. Wish all customer service was this good!
I use this productfor a recent camping trip and I must say I couldn't be happier than ever. It has everything you need straight in the box ready to go(All tools and accessories included to hook up and to the propane!!!).All you need is a propane tank.I hook up the product to a spigot in less than 5min and was already having a blast washing my dog from a sticky accident at the campground. My dog loved it and I was happy to have warm-hot water for my little furry friend :).Would definitely recommend this to my friend and family !
I got this with the intention of using it in a gravity fed water system in an off grid cabin. But I find out it requires a pressurized water source. So I can’t use this for my needs. Seems well made with quality accessories. Would be good for a hunting or other cabin with propane and a pressurized water source…well or city water connection.
This is a nice kit for a portable water heater, including stands and carry bag.The first thing you should know is that the water flow is less than even most "high-efficiency" or low flow showerheads. It's sufficient for a camp shower but can't compare to a home shower. Also, this works best if the source water temperature is at least mid-40's. Anything colder and you may not get quite as "hot" of a shower as you might like. The water source needs to be pressurized between 10 to 110 psi. This is very easy to set up and to operate. They provide an adapter hose/regulator for 20-lbs propane tanks to the quick-connect fitting on the water heater. The water intake accepts a standard 3/4" garden hose fitting. The water outlet is also a 3/4" fitting, and they provide a hose and showerhead for output. The showerhead has 3 spray patterns and a stop function. There are only two controls on the water heater - one for gas flow, which is how you control the temperature, and one for water flow to adjust the pressure. Start with the lowest gas flow and highest water flow and adjust from there until you achieve the temperature and flow desired. This is an auto-ignition device, and it will ignite as it senses water flow. Two D-cell batteries are required to provide the power for ignition. They do not include the D-cell batteries with the water heater, they must be purchased separately. There are a couple of mounting points built-in to the water heater to make it easy to hang or mount to the wall, and there is a folding handle you can use to carry or hang the water heater from. The carry bag is capable of storing EVERYTHING, including the stands. The stands need to be screwed onto the bottom of the water heater to use them. Screws are provided. This is perhaps my only complaint - I wish they used clamps or something as screws are easy to lose when camping. In the kit, they provided one additional storage "belt" with pockets that can store hoses, fittings or other small items. I'm not quite sure how they intend this to be used as the elastic belt is larger than the water heater. I'm not sure what it's meant to go around, it's kind of a mystery to me.This is pretty well thought out for ease-of-use and seems very sturdy. It's not the "Ritz" but it will get the job done when you're camping. I'm quite pleased with it overall as a camping or off-grid shower solution and think it's definitely worth the price.
This CAMPLUX portable tankless water heater is terrific. Without a water heater in our travel trailer and vacation cabin, this is the perfect answer to quick set up and use. It is really handy to have the free standing base for the trailer and a built in wall hanger for the cabin. Quick set up and disassembly. The sturdy carry bag provided makes it easy and convenient to pack up and transport. No tools needed. Just bring along your own propane tank and enjoy endless hot water.
This package is really awesome looking and can't wait to try it in the "wild" soon. From the unboxing, I can tell a lot of thought went into the entire concept and package. The feet can attach to provide stability on the ground. There is a good handle on the top, and mounting holes to secure it on a wall as another option. The propane hose is nice, quick connect onto the heater, and the other end fits a 20lb tank. The quick connect water lines are also really slick. The shower head connects on the output w/ the red hose and has a pause (stops the water) button. Unfortunately this kit does not come with an INPUT hose, to use and connect your water supply from. That is why I took off 1 star. The inlet/outlet quick connects look standard, but may be Camplux proprietary connectors. I'll need to find a water inlet hose. There are other kits from Camplux that include the water inlet line (blue) and a 12V pump. This system says it will work on just a couple of PSI, so my DIY water tank should work. Overall, it weighs 10lbs, and packs up nicely into a specially designed tote bag that seems very well thoughtout.
We were pleasantly surprised at how well this portable tankless water heater works. You must have a pressurized water supply though and not just gravity fed. Assembly was easy and instructions were good. There is a specific process that must be followed when starting the water heater. We hooked the unit up to a propane tank and to our garden hose and as soon as the water was turned on, the igniter lit and the water instantly began to heat up. The water was very warm within seconds. When you turn the shower nozzle off, the fire instantly goes out. The unit only lights and uses propane when the shower nozzle is actually turned on and the water is flowing so we used very little propane for wetting and rinsing the vehicle. The igniter required 2 D batteries and you can hear it click several times and then ignite each time you turn the water on. The pressure was really good at the nozzle end but we did have a water leak at the connection on the underside of the tank so we changed out the washer twice (their supplied washers) but it did not stop the water leak. Also, the water never reached "scalding" at full water pressure but it was definitely warm enough to shower. We found that the lower the water pressure we used, the hotter the water became. Overall we are very pleased with this instant tankless water heater and will use it for washing vehicles, dogs, and outdoor showers. The only issue we had with this tankless water heater was the water leaking at the connection on the underside of the unit so we will be replacing their washers with some hopefully better ones.
I was sceptic at first. But wow, this thing does work great.Installing is easy. Plug and play.Expect for the stand that I have to screw. The water does heat up pretty quick.Once the propane is connected and water hose is attached. The water will be flowing out on the shower head. One thing I didn’t like is, there’s no on/off switch for the water. One the faucet is on, water is on and it takes like 5-10 seconds to warm the water. Thats quick for me.Heat temperature can be controlled. Which is good. Without it, probably water will boiling. It needs 2 D batteries. Not included on the package.Price is reasonable.I would recommend it.
Oh how a hot shower can improve your mood after multiple days of grime. We used this during a 2 week hunting trip.WATER SUPPLY This needs a minimum of 10psi water pressure to work. We used a 12 volt submersible pump into the creek and a portable power station for electricity. Mind you were also packing solar panels to recharge the power station. Or you can use a gravity feed bag, a foot pump, or whatever you come up with, the submersible pump gives much better water pressure. Of course if available a water spigot and hose works. Let's face it though, I don't care if it's a trickle of hot water when Im ladened with filth when far away from modern conveniences.AUTO IGNITION This takes 2 D cell batteries to work. The water pressure triggers the electric ignition circuit. This means it will only heat when the correct water pressure is present and will automatically cut off the gas supply when it isn't. For reference water pressure needs to be a minimum of 10psi to trigger the automatic ignition, so you need to be able to meet that demand. Maximum water pressure is 110psi.PROPANE USAGE I can't confirm how much propane it goes through since we had it on a "Y" sharing the 5 lbs tank with our stove. Since we only showered 4 times using fast water saving techniques, (meaning get wet, turn the water off, lather up, then quickly rinse) and washed our hands and dishes daily in 2 weeks. I'd say it ran a total 45 minutes or so, and judged it went through 1 to 1-1/2 lbs of propane, since it was cold out and we had this baby cranked as hot as it would go, so of course it used more propane than if it was on a lower setting in a warmer climate.OVERALL THOUGHTS I have zero complaints but only one gripe. The red hose connected to the shower head is stiff, and not cooperative at all in colder weather. I'll be changing this to a differenttype of tubing to make it user friendly in the cold.JUST AN FYI This is recommended to use a maximum size of 20lb propane tank. Hopefully this was helpful, and font forget to take a D cell batteries and spares.Thank you!
Easy to set up. Just attach shower head, propane, and water. Adjusting temperature was a breeze. It will definitely work for what I bought it for. The quick connect does leak but not a problem for me. I bought a longer hose for shower nozzle an attach directly.
Got the product hooked up fine. No issues.
Living in south Texas, I only need my water supply warmed a little. I have a concern that in mid-summer, the water will be too cold for a shower but after passing through the Camplux, with the water turned max and the gas turned minimum, the water will be too hot.
My messages to the help link have only resulted in short answers with no real solution on how to reduce the gas flow or increase water flow.
Came in a timely manner, packaged well. Easy to hook up and use! Love being able to to move it from our outdoor shower to our outdoor kitchen for dishes etc.

The essential type (AY132 & AY132B) does not draw water by itself as it does not have a built-in pump. You will need a pressurised water source to feed water into the unit. Consider our Complete Pump Pack
To drain the device properly, please open the drain stern at the bottom right of the water heater, turning in a counter clockwise direction. Disconnect all incoming and outgoing water lines to ensure proper drainage from the water heater.
As long as you have good water supply.
Camplux Camper Kit has an adjustable water flow rate between 2.5-6 LPM (0.6-1.6 GPM). So, if you want a 5-minute shower, you will use between 12.5-30 litres (3.3-8 gallons) of water.
The unit was designed for portable outdoor use. It is splash-proof and can manage a little drizzle, however, prolonged exposure to rain/water will damage the internal components. We recommend our Pro Series which can install a weather-proof rain cap and has larger flow rate (from 1.58 to 5.28 GPM).
It uses gas to heat up water and can run off 9kg (20lb) BBQ gas bottles for 16 hours of continuous use.
