Hooked up the sweet Camplux Pro to our horse trailer converted into backcountry camper. Also purchased the 12v pump system. Had the outdoor shower hooked up in minutes and had hot showers for 5 days straight for two people. 55gal fresh water tank lasted through the trip. Thanks Camplux. On to the next ride!

The only disappointment that I have is that Camplux does not offer a longer hose and you have to just go and build your own to make it longer. Otherwise, it is a wonderful unit and I would highly recommend it.

Picture of our off-grid privy and shower house. The Camplux water heater is the best part and an awesome addition to our private get-away! Gary N.

Easy to install and workes great for my outdoor shower .

For my backyard hot tub set up I built a shower and it's fantastic. I've been using this tankless water heater and I would give a higher rating on it if I could because it works so well. Consistently and without issue. It's very high quality.I had questions about the fitments and needed some recommendations, their technical support team was confident and helped answer all my questions. My set up is perfect. Nothing like a nice hot outdoor shower after a run, Or confidence knowing no sweaty teenage child is contaminating my crystal clear hot of water!!! MANDATORY SHOWER BOYS!!

I love this on demand water heater! I bought it to give our show pigs and horses a nice warm bath and for personal use. I mounted it to a dolly so it is mobile. This right here, is a game changer! It took some work to make the fittings leak tight and find the right adapter for the water hose. I picked up an RV pressure regulator, took the fitting from the packaging for the unit and tried various adapters at the store. It works great!

Got this thankless water heater setup in about an hour, and had hot water right away. Very simple to use and a few knobs for adjustments. Big upgrade from the tank water heater I has previously.

I built a make shift shower to try this out, this shower is great!!!! comes with everything you need to hook it up to a garden hose, the hook up has no swivel so I had to twist the hose in reverse (counter clockwise) then screwed onto the connection other wise it will back off and leak, the shower head and hose are cheap and the quick coupler connection is very fragile but that's fine I would replace it anyway.....follow the directions I scalded myself because I had it on high when I first started it, this went to 139 degrees almost instantly, have the water on full and gas at lowest setting then increase gradually, this will be a permanent fixture Im not using it for camping...I highly recommend this unit, I bought the 2.11 gpm for more water and because you can a rain cap on it..update: the temperature outside has got down to 30 degrees and water hose froze but the camplux unit is fine

Works great heats up our spa in 90 min

So far this heater works amazing as a temporary one for my hot tub. Just gotta keep the tub covered up with one of those plastic blue covers you can get cheap on Amazon until you got it hot enough then you are good to go. I can heat my 6x8’ tub up to 105 degrees in less than two hrs. Could get much hotter if I wanted it to be. All depends on your own comfort level. Definitely worth the money. You have to use a decent quality water pump for this application. Can get at Lowe’s, Home D or Amazon. Don’t leave it sitting out in the rain or it will rust out. Keep the heater covered up when not in use and should last for years.

Located in Mesa Arizona. Product seems good on initial quality. I give it four and a half stars on the second day. My name is Lee. I'm a plumber buy trade. I just bought this Forest river 2010 travel trailer and the furnace and water heater failed the first week. So i disconnected the old 6 gallon tank heater that sprung a leak. I purchased this 2.62 gallon per minute unit based only on its rating and plenty of videos on you tube to check it out before purchase. it took a lot of labor the remove the old system and re pipe it for the outside use with this tankless heater. Unit functions / works well. its a little touchy to get the proper gas flow and water flow to the correct setting. Be sure to be careful the unit will produce extremely hot water140 degrees and more. the conditions i installed the unit is 70 pounds of water pressure which is very high. Due to high water pressure when you increase water flow towards high setting it would turn the unit off. You would have to reduce water flow and it would turn back on. If you had lower water pressure this would most likely not happen. The original travel trailer propane system was used to supply propane. I had to buy a 3/8" flare hose to connect to the trailer propane system. A separate bottle would have worked just fine. I wanted it to be a part of the original system of the trailer. Shower head was very good I replaced the shower head in my shower with it. To the plumbing aspect. I have pex 1/2" piping and cut out all the piping and valves for the old heater. I piped both hot and cold water with a hose bib / silcock which has mounting a flange and mounted them through the wall of my trailer. I purchased standard washer and dryer flex hoses for water connections and the 3/8" flare hose so it was a permanent installation but easy to disconnect and remove for travel or replacement. Unit mounted easy. I did have to install wood under the unit to make wall stronger. My travel trailer wall was just a thin piece of metal. One factor of note is that if you are trying to use two fixtures like the bathroom and kitchen sink at one time the unit cant really keep up with the higher demand for water. So temperature and water flow are reduced, but that's no big deal. In the end I like the unit... In Mesa Arizona we don't see freezing much so when its in the 30's cold and windy unit functions without issues. A noteworthy fact, there is no pilot flame its electronic ignition. I like 120 degree water. Unit takes 13 seconds to produce hot water at my kitchen sink in very cold conditions (30's - 40's). My sink is about 15-16' away. Its only 4 or 5 seconds for my bathroom which shares the wall the unit is installed on. one thing that that made me second guess the unit was the digital display. After I put the batteries in the display did not come on. I thought it was broken. The display will not be on until the heater is active and producing hot water. All in All the unit produces very, very hot water. Its propane efficient, again no pilot flame its electronic ignition. Unit is very quiet during combustion in comparison to other tankless heaters.Tankless heaters are the future of water heating. So as a comparison of the 6 gallon original heater and the Camplux heater, it's a no brainer. The original heater had a pilot and ran all day long to maintain the 6 gallons of water. The 6 gallons of water lasted 4 to 5 minutes when taking a shower. that's horrible and way to short. the original unit was really heavy, this unit is half the weight and much easier to work on. the old heater was a pain to work on being on the inside of the trailer. So, if your old system has failed just say good buy to it and put a modern tankless replacement for it and never run out of hot water. I got the unit and the needed materials for around 400.00 dollars. I did the labor so that's not factored in. the replacement for the 6 gallon heater was north of 600.00 buy itself.UPDATE:After using the heater for a few days, it had issues in my shower. when tempering the hot water with cold water in the shower somehow the unit turns off and stops producing hot water, but what i have realized is that the shower head that came with the unit greatly reduces water flow. so, I took of the shower head that came with the unit and replaced it with the one that was in my shower previous to my purchase of the tankless heater. this head dose not force the water through lots of small holes, so it doesn't affect the flow rate at the unit, thus it works properly. The unit is working well. You need to change the gas flow and water mixture when the outside temp changes but that's no big deal.Best of luck to you.Lee.

I purchased this tankless water heater to use outside for bathing our horses. My husband installed it to the side of our barn with ease, very easy to get up and running. Our water is very cold coming from a well, this water heater heats it up fast and very hot, we don’t come close to setting it on the highest setting. The water pressure coming out of the heater isn’t great compared to the pressure going from the faucet but it still does the job. Also the water heater is very quiet when it kicks on and off, I was a bit worried about that being it is near to horse wash rack and the last tankless heater we had was very loud when kicking on and would startle the horses. We also always drain the tank with the drain plug at the bottom of the tank, this way we can leave it out on the wall year round. I would highly recommend this tankless water heater! The picture I posted is during the install, we now have it more permanent but this give you an idea how easy it can be to set it up and use it.

We live off grid sothis unit was perfect. I'm starting out with 5 stars because 1, the water heater arrived undamaged, 2 the included fittings to go to garden hose worked perfectly with my Shark bite push in fittings and so the install went pretty much flawless. 3, it turned on and heated my water so there's a plus when the 2 previous models (not camplux) were DOA.This unit heats water great, the 20 min shut off is a bit short but hey 20 mins with hot water is better than. None

This thing is super easy to hook up and even easier to use. Just hook up the water supply either with a garden hose or conventional pipe fittings, attach a propane supply and a couple of D cell batteries. Then all you have to do is turn on the water like you would at home...The heater starts and stops all by itself based on the water demand (when the water is flowing it is heating it and when it stops it shuts off). That easy. We use it for our off grid bath tub. IT ROCKS! and fills the tub quickly with water that is so hot we have to cool it down before we jump in. The unit is about the size of a carry on suit case and kinda heavy. Calling it "portable" is a bit of a stretch but the ease of hook up makes up for its bulkyness. This thing delivers very hot water even at sub 40 degree winter inlet water temp (although the flow needs to be reduced a bit to get it up to bath tub water tempature up higher due to the cold air temps cooling the water faster as it sits in the tub quicker than in the summer months). Do not ask me about its efficiency because the last thing I am thinking about as I slip into our romantic out door tub full of hot water, with my painfully beautiful wife sitting naked at the other end of the tub is how much propane I used....

First off I know this is not it's intended use however it works great as an above ground pool heater. Water gets up to 160-170 when gas is turned all the way up. It heats the pool in no time. My 6000 gallon Intex pool went from 68 to 74 in only a few hours. Was well worth the investment and much better than the other pool heaters that are offered. They should market one of these for swimming pools.

Here at Parksland Retreat we highly value bliss. One of the key components of creature comfort bliss off grid in the forested Appalachian foothills is HOT WATER.Over the years we have tested and used many makers of on demand hot water heaters. Through attrition we are now exclusively using those made by #Camplux "Enjoy outdoor life".A few weeks ago while relocating one of the heaters I hastily put a wrench on the gas inlet fitting and turned, breaking the housing it was attached to. All my fault. The lesson of Smooth is Fast and Slow is Smooth is a lesson I keep getting the opportunity to learn.I contacted Camplux - long after the warranty had expired and sheepishly asked advice (ie: can I buy this big integrated integral part I broke? They graciously and without blame language asked if I was capable of replacing the part if they sent one for free!! :) humbly I said, I'll give it a shot ;). They said the shipping is cheap, we'll send it today! Wow. Then they've continually followed up asking if I needed any support. Gosh. These guys are great. The showers and tub feel even better now.#blissbox #hotwaterondemand #camplux #offgrid #offgridliving @ Parksland Retreat

4 stars because it showed up damaged, external dent on the bottom (pictured) ended up working fine though. Maybe a little better packaging? called in and tech support handled it fine, said I could send it back if it needed up not working after opening. I used this heater to fill a 5,200 gallon pool. Our tap water is very cold, about 45 deg F. and is not swimmable at that temp and would take all summer to warm up up here in Alaska. I pretty much torture tested this thing on the first filling. Used up 6, 5 gal bottles of propane and ended up with a full pool and water about 75 deg F. worked excellent. The 20 minute safety timer was a little annoying but we just set a timer and switched it back on after it shut off. It ran pretty much continuouse all day long with no problems. Also put in an outdoor shower and it supplies that with excellent hot water. Currently I ordered a pump that can recirculate the water from the pool to the heater, it’s a 4.9 gpm at 60 psi. If you want a poor mans pool heater set up this is it! I can raise the poool temp about 4 deg F with a 5 gal bottle of propane on a 5200 gal pool. Filling it from empty I can take 45 deg tap water and turn it into 5200 gal of 75 deg water with 6, 5 gallon propane bottles.(a metric I wish I had before ordering) I will probably order another one of these heaters for next year so I can double my BTU input. Some comments asked about heating pool water and the effect on the longevity of the heater... I do see some crystals forming probably from the chlorine being heated, but at the comparative price of a pool heater, even if I have to buy one of these every couple years I’m coming out ahead $$$ wise. I’m handy and can probably flush it with some serious scale remover and restore it to full flow, if flow gets impeded, which it has not been to date. Over all I must say I’m impressed with this little unit for the price and the unusual application I purposed it for, which has worked out wonderfully.

We have this at our campsite in the Hill Country. Elevation is at 1900 feet. We have it nailed to a tree. We get our water from an aquifer & it is cold when it comes out of the ground. This water heater does the job. It takes seconds to get the water hot! We have it set on eco, gas set to minimum, water to max. Nice hit showers now. We also have hot water for our dishes now.

I’m building a tiny home inside a portable building and need a shower till I’ve got one tiled and plumbed. This unit is amazing. I hooked it up to a splitter and a shut off valve plus 30 lb LP. Run it at 108 degrees and I’m happy!

Perfect Outdoor Shower

High recommend this unit, mounted it on my custom built toy hauler, nice to have a shower after a long ride

Awesome!I did not use the directions for hook up. So easy and no issues. Package included every fitting and washer I needed. I did use tape on all threaded parts. I had hot water running in about 45 mins.(Warning!) The hot water can reach scolding temperatures. Adults should be present when shower is use by children.)Heater is hooked to a hydrant and propane tank.Instant hot water.I have been taking 20 minute showers everyday twice a day since delivery. I have used 20% of 15lb propane tank.My opinion, AWESOME!!I have the unit set to 113 which is perfect for the outside wash station.Update 11/2021 awesome item, Unless your an idiot like those who post less than 5 stars! Take your time, relax and understand tankless water heaters will be effectived by inlet water temperature and air/ground temperature. So, it is almost impossible to maintain a consistent temperature between usages. Even if, like some who use the system for what is not designed to do you will have to monitor the temperature. Do not be stupid, set the temperature walk away and believe it will be consistent. Idiots. Change of weather here. Shower time temperatures vary every day. Turn on gas, turn on water and notice where the temp is. Adjust a little and ENJOY! No different than your furnace, have to adjust ths thermostat. This product is rock solid! Easy ro drain when temperatures reach freezing weather. Again, if your a idiot don't make a purchase. If you have just alittle bit of commonsense this product will never let you down.I have read many reviews and most must have been written by dem idiots!

It is fabulous!! Absolutely love it!! Second year for it. We have a cabin in the woods and use it on weekends. Wonderful water pressure and heats great. Can increase both or decrease as needed. Last night my husband said if something happened to this one I would buy another one tomorrow. May order a back up now. Highly recommend.

Works great heating the pool

After taking 4 minute military showers, (where you wet down, soap up,quick rinse)as I'm a full-time r.v er. I consider this to be one of the best purchases I've ever made. I did buy the 2.1 gallon at first. Just too small for my application but this 4.2 is fantastic. to be honest I think that 3 gallon per minute would work for an RV, but I'd rather go big than to be disappointed.

Love it, amazing

Love the unit, it’s just way too sensitive to wind. I’m using it in permanent outdoor shower attached to my house and any light wind shuts down the unit and I have to restart

It works good

Works great! Fast and hot! Good water pressure as well.

Works great.

I use this to bathe my dogs outside. This is the first one of this brand & I am so pleased with it!! It works perfectly. I highly recommend it!!

Still working on getting water leaks taken care of

The unit was easy to install and worked right out of the box just as expected. This is my 4th one over many years and I am hopeful that the upgrades to the model mean longer life for the unit. We keep it out spring, summer and fall in Virginia. Outdoor showers are among my favorite things.

I just got this & I already love it! Easy set up too. It works great!

Works great, had smaller version and I upgraded to this one.

The unit works fine, but the shower nozzle and hose are rather flimsy and the hose is rather short.

Original order had significant shipping damage. I contacted Camplux customer service and a replacement was shipped in a very timely manner. I strongly recommend the product and was very impressed with customer service.

Really nice product, works great and most of all feels so good after a hard day of play.

Impressed by the fit and finish. Have not tried it but it sure looks good!

Device is well designed, and works very well. I’d recommend further investment in instructions to make them simpler, and some effort to QA them. Either the battery polarization in the instructions is unclear, or it’s reversed.. I’d also make removing the outer case a bit simpler.

FAQ

The essential type (AY132 & AY132B) does not draw water by itself as it does not have a built-in pump. You will need a pressurised water source to feed water into the unit. Consider our Complete Pump Pack

To drain the device properly, please open the drain stern at the bottom right of the water heater, turning in a counter clockwise direction. Disconnect all incoming and outgoing water lines to ensure proper drainage from the water heater.

As long as you have good water supply.

Camplux Camper Kit has an adjustable water flow rate between 2.5-6 LPM (0.6-1.6 GPM). So, if you want a 5-minute shower, you will use between 12.5-30 litres (3.3-8 gallons) of water.

The unit was designed for portable outdoor use. It is splash-proof and can manage a little drizzle, however, prolonged exposure to rain/water will damage the internal components. We recommend our Pro Series which can install a weather-proof rain cap and has larger flow rate (from 1.58 to 5.28 GPM).

It uses gas to heat up water and can run off 9kg (20lb) BBQ gas bottles for 16 hours of continuous use.
