I purchased this to provide hot water for my cabin. It is a small place with one full bathroom and a kitchen. The good.. for the price, I'm happy with the functionality and simplicity. It was fairly easy for me to install and the controls are straight forward. It fires up as soon as the hot water is turned on and raises the temperature of the water. It works to provide just enough heating to run one fixture at a time. With a flow limiting shower head it gives a hot shower but the sink on full blast will out-run the heating capacity. On the flip side, if not enough flow is demanded it over-heats and shuts down. The install was about what I expected. The exhaust had to be adjusted to use the existing (old) 3 inch water heater vent. The provided vent pipe is not a standard diameter, is quite short, and does not come with a wall thimble.

I have been fighting this thing for almost a year now. In California with the low-flow requirements, it doesn't flow enough to 'activate' the water heater. I have taken apart 2 of the faucets and was able to drill them out to flow enough to make it work, but still can't get hot water out of my kitchen faucet because it doesn't flow enough. Pretty frustrated

the flow is less than my tank heater but it makes great shower water continuously. easy install the tank heaters always fail after 10 year and are larger much harder to install and more expensive operate. only time will tell this units longevity. i have a 250 propane gallon tank with 1/2 inch line.

I installed this product for my cabin about 16 months ago. Since then it has been used only half a dozen times; mostly because its water temperature was hard to manage. Recently it failed apparently due first to the display connector and later due to the vacuum pressure switch, which turns out not to be available, until maybe a month from now? There is no online diagram of parts from which to order, no online system or circuit diagrams, and no ordering link to a parts warehouse. So I had to rely on texts to Camplux Service; very uncertain responses. No cerified repair shop in the CA bay area afaik..After a month waiting for the part, Camplux responded "Thanks for your message.We are sorry for the issue. We do not sell air pressure switch. This part is more difficult to get in the market.Would you consider re-purchasing our water heater? We can give you a 10% discount.Looking hear from you.ThanksCamplux ServiceLater I got an email offering a replacement, and have now received and installed the replacement, for which I am gtateful! Installed but not yet tested or used.

I love the easy installation. I bragged to all my friends. But now 8 months later I adjusted temp a little higher to change the colder winter water temperatures. A day later no hot water and the led reads 46 F. Winter and no hot water! No tech support!!!Update Jan 26, 2022A quick Google search led me to Camplux in South Carolina and a tech support website! I described my issue and got quick professional response with diy diagnostic steps and free parts. Although the unit is not working I'm happy to report they stand by their product and brand with a replacement unit!The best combination is Chinese manufacturing prices with USA brand management!

This unit has been amazing, I waited to write a review until iv had it installed and used for awhile. Most negative reviews are mostly due to the misunderstanding on how these units work differently from a normal standard hot water tank. The temperature setting is always going to be a bit touchy and may need to be readjusted any time the incoming water temperature is either colder or hotter which depends on where the source water is coming from as well as the affect of temperature change due to winter and summer. I never allow anyone to touch the temperature dial because they have no understanding of how it works. No complaints at all about this unit, everything works as it should.

Great on demand heater and even better customer service. Was having troubles with error message E5 and E1. Ended up being a low flow issue of the shower rose. Efficient shower roses may help save water but doesnt allow the 1.5 gallon per minute flow requirement. Popped the effecient valve out of the shower head and no more problems!!!!

I like it, gets the water hot, and got it scratch and dent so nice and cheap.Mainly here to give some info on this.So this is actually in metric, that's why you can't find vent parts, it is actually a 60mm vent. Searching "60mm wall thimble鈥?will get you the camplux branded wall thimble for this.All 3 fittings are 1/2" BSP (BSPP technically but is usually called out as BSP) threads and you will need a BSP to NPT adapter. BSP doesn't seal on the thread, it will need a gasket (unit comes with these) inside the adapter to seal, use a water based lubricant (yes 'that' lubricant will work;) ) on the gasket to aid in sealing and preventing damage to the gasket. I would suggest puting one wrap of teflon on the thread just to aid in tightening, but it will not contribute to sealing.I also noted that the required natural gas pressure (6-8w.c.) was a bit above what is supplied at my house (5.5w.c.), thankfully i was able to get the regulator adjusted (don't forget to check your other appliances minimum and maximum gas pressures before doing this).Tech support is extremely responsive (I would get results in 10 minutes) so that was really nice!Oh, it also seems it no longer has the 10-20min auto-shutdown timer. I can not find any new documentation referencing it and I definitely have been taking 20min+ showers! (There's some very old sources stating that it does, glad they got rid of that)
