One of our employee's husband had a major stork recently and had no way to bathe while recovering and rehabbing. Our colleague told us that there was no way to get him upstairs to a shower. I am so proud to share that our team jumped into action. One person research portable hot water heaters, another researched propane dollies, another shower chairs and mats, and our technicians put it all together, delivered it and installed it. Our employe's response of pure gratitude brought us all to tears. Thanks for being part of it. Brian Cohen Chief Executive Hänel Stoage Systems

I purchased this to replace an Ecotemp 10L that stopped working. Liked the Ecotemp, but couldn't get any help when it stopped working. Tried this one and have been so overwhelmingly pleased with every aspect of it that I ordered another one for a backup. It starts flawlessly and gets to temperature quickly. The temperature adjustment is great in contrast to the Ecotemp. So far, so good. Very happy to be able to depend on being able to take a shower when I need to while staying at my country place.

We bought a cabin recently and tried to add some features on, a friend told us to buy one of Camplux outdoor tankless. So I went straight with this 4.22 GPM as he said his was just past the second year. Live up to the impression I had, love the hot water and shower it gives. But a little heavy for camping, I might order a small one for camping.

Amazing…. My family love it. So convenient and easy to learn. Our bathroom and shower is being Renovated so we built a out shower and the family’s works perfect

Since it's installed in our bathroom, we never take a cold shower or have any issues with shower. This 4GPM water heater works excellently. But it's fading on the mark and label, guess it's because our bathroom stays misty by the steamy hot shower it gives all the time.

Use it for a year and only in warm seasons, love the hot water it gives. Me and my family all happy custimers. We just drain and left it there when we not to take shower outside, their water heater must be sturdy enough to just hung there and still runs as new.

Love it. I got another brand tankless water heater before, not last over 6 months then we got a Camplux one. Both are 4GPM but Camplux gives more hot water. 3 months now and still give tons of hot water. I think Camplux stands for quality exactly.

2022 to the date, server for I think not less than 500 times. Car wash, dog bath, pool fulfilling, and everything. The water flow has fractured a bit lately, thanks to the tech team it is back to normal again. Best experience in most of the way.

Installed on the back of the porperty, so far so good.

This one is 2 years old now, a little rust on the case but everything else is fine. Look forward to using it for the next 2.

Very powerful, very hot. Kind of miss the days in summer to autumn, when we can take an outdoor shower easily. Me, my family my dog love it.

We have this at our campsite in the Hill Country. Elevation is at 1900 feet. We have it nailed to a tree. We get our water from an aquifer & it is cold when it comes out of the ground. This water heater does the job. It takes seconds to get the water hot! We have it set on eco, gas set to minimum, water to max. Nice hit showers now. We also have hot water for our dishes now.

I'm building a tiny home inside a portable building and need a shower till I've got one tiled and plumbed. This unit is amazing. I hooked it up to a splitter and a shut off valve plus 30 lb LP. Run it at 108 degrees and I'm happy!

This thing is super easy to hook up and even easier to use. Just hook up the water supply either with a garden hose or conventional pipe fittings, attach a propane supply and a couple of D cell batteries. Then all you have to do is turn on the water like you would at home...The heater starts and stops all by itself based on the water demand (when the water is flowing it is heating it and when it stops it shuts off). That easy. We use it for our off grid bath tub. IT ROCKS! and fills the tub quickly with water that is so hot we have to cool it down before we jump in. The unit is about the size of a carry on suit case and kinda heavy. Calling it "portable" is a bit of a stretch but the ease of hook up makes up for its bulkyness. This thing delivers very hot water even at sub 40 degree winter inlet water temp (although the flow needs to be reduced a bit to get it up to bath tub water tempature up higher due to the cold air temps cooling the water faster as it sits in the tub quicker than in the summer months). Do not ask me about its efficiency because the last thing I am thinking about as I slip into our romantic out door tub full of hot water, with my painfully beautiful wife sitting naked at the other end of the tub is how much propane I used....

I am VERY happy with this heater. It's super easy to setup. It's way more effective than my previous "portable" propane water heater. This unit can be left outside, though they do mention you should cover it when not in use. I fill my clawfoot bathtub on the porch (don't judge!) to take piping hot baths. One caveat: The shower handle doesnt have an on/off switch for water flow. The only way to turn water on/off at your spigot. I added an inline brass water-hose on/off switch at the base of the heater where the hose attaches, then attached the hose to that. You may want to order both or plan to use the main water spigot.Also... my previous, smaller, heater would have it's flame blown-out every other day or so. This one has yet to be blown-out. It seems to stand up to a much stronger breeze!

Built a simple outdoor shower for the deer lease. Water gets HOT! Garden hose, 2 D batteries and a propane tank is all you need. Installed in 15 minutes or less (I took my time).

Awesome!I did not use the directions for hook up. So easy and no issues. Package included every fitting and washer I needed. I did use tape on all threaded parts. I had hot water running in about 45 mins.(Warning!) The hot water can reach scolding temperatures. Adults should be present when shower is use by children.)Heater is hooked to a hydrant and propane tank.Instant hot water.I have been taking 20 minute showers everyday twice a day since delivery. I have used 20% of 15lb propane tank.My opinion, AWESOME!!I have the unit set to 113 which is perfect for the outside wash station.Update 11/2021 awesome item, Unless your an idiot like those who post less than 5 stars! Take your time, relax and understand tankless water heaters will be effectived by inlet water temperature and air/ground temperature. So, it is almost impossible to maintain a consistent temperature between usages. Even if, like some who use the system for what is not designed to do you will have to monitor the temperature. Do not be stupid, set the temperature walk away and believe it will be consistent. Idiots. Change of weather here. Shower time temperatures vary every day. Turn on gas, turn on water and notice where the temp is. Adjust a little and ENJOY! No different than your furnace, have to adjust ths thermostat. This product is rock solid! Easy ro drain when temperatures reach freezing weather. Again, if your a idiot don't make a purchase. If you have just alittle bit of commonsense this product will never let you down.I have read many reviews and most must have been written by dem idiots!

I love this on demand water heater! I bought it to give our show pigs and horses a nice warm bath and for personal use. I mounted it to a dolly so it is mobile. This right here, is a game changer! It took some work to make the fittings leak tight and find the right adapter for the water hose. I picked up an RV pressure regulator, took the fitting from the packaging for the unit and tried various adapters at the store. It works great!

Works great! Power kicks on after you have water running to it, I use it out outdoor shower in a property I Airbnb, and all the visitors love it! I use it for the kids too, if they get too dirty playing outside I tell them to go rinse off before coming inside.

Works great heating the pool

Got this thankless water heater setup in about an hour, and had hot water right away. Very simple to use and a few knobs for adjustments. Big upgrade from the tank water heater I has previously.

I purchased this tankless water heater to use outside for bathing our horses. My husband installed it to the side of our barn with ease, very easy to get up and running. Our water is very cold coming from a well, this water heater heats it up fast and very hot, we don’t come close to setting it on the highest setting. The water pressure coming out of the heater isn’t great compared to the pressure going from the faucet but it still does the job. Also the water heater is very quiet when it kicks on and off, I was a bit worried about that being it is near to horse wash rack and the last tankless heater we had was very loud when kicking on and would startle the horses. We also always drain the tank with the drain plug at the bottom of the tank, this way we can leave it out on the wall year round. I would highly recommend this tankless water heater! The picture I posted is during the install, we now have it more permanent but this give you an idea how easy it can be to set it up and use it.

We live off grid sothis unit was perfect. I'm starting out with 5 stars because 1, the water heater arrived undamaged, 2 the included fittings to go to garden hose worked perfectly with my Shark bite push in fittings and so the install went pretty much flawless. 3, it turned on and heated my water so there's a plus when the 2 previous models (not camplux) were DOA.This unit heats water great, the 20 min shut off is a bit short but hey 20 mins with hot water is better than. None

Here at Parksland Retreat we highly value bliss. One of the key components of creature comfort bliss off grid in the forested Appalachian foothills is HOT WATER.Over the years we have tested and used many makers of on demand hot water heaters. Through attrition we are now exclusively using those made by #Camplux "Enjoy outdoor life".A few weeks ago while relocating one of the heaters I hastily put a wrench on the gas inlet fitting and turned, breaking the housing it was attached to. All my fault. The lesson of Smooth is Fast and Slow is Smooth is a lesson I keep getting the opportunity to learn.I contacted Camplux - long after the warranty had expired and sheepishly asked advice (ie: can I buy this big integrated integral part I broke? They graciously and without blame language asked if I was capable of replacing the part if they sent one for free!! :) humbly I said, I'll give it a shot ;). They said the shipping is cheap, we'll send it today! Wow. Then they've continually followed up asking if I needed any support. Gosh. These guys are great. The showers and tub feel even better now.#blissbox #hotwaterondemand #camplux #offgrid #offgridliving @ Parksland Retreat

First off I know this is not it's intended use however it works great as an above ground pool heater. Water gets up to 160-170 when gas is turned all the way up. It heats the pool in no time. My 6000 gallon Intex pool went from 68 to 74 in only a few hours. Was well worth the investment and much better than the other pool heaters that are offered. They should market one of these for swimming pools.

For my backyard hot tub set up I built a shower and it's fantastic. I've been using this tankless water heater and I would give a higher rating on it if I could because it works so well. Consistently and without issue. It's very high quality.I had questions about the fitments and needed some recommendations, their technical support team was confident and helped answer all my questions. My set up is perfect. Nothing like a nice hot outdoor shower after a run, Or confidence knowing no sweaty teenage child is contaminating my crystal clear hot of water!!! MANDATORY SHOWER BOYS!!

Unit heats up quickly, has lots of water pressure. Make sure you have o ring seals on all connections or you will have a leak. They are supplied but I missed one initially.I did add quick release fittings and an on/off valve to the unit. The on/off valve is because you cannot turn off the water from the unit itself. I added the quick releases to make it easier to connect the hose and disconnect it for other uses in the garden and shop. After a while of use I'll write a further review of what I think. See image.I honestly love this thing.

I purchased this to use in the RV only when we were at full hook ups. I place it on a stand we built and hook the hot and cold water onto the low point drains of the camper. We can now take hot showers as long as we want and don't have to wait for the hot water to heat up before the next person goes in. Heats up very fast and accurate every time so far.

4 stars because it showed up damaged, external dent on the bottom (pictured) ended up working fine though. Maybe a little better packaging? called in and tech support handled it fine, said I could send it back if it needed up not working after opening. I used this heater to fill a 5,200 gallon pool. Our tap water is very cold, about 45 deg F. and is not swimmable at that temp and would take all summer to warm up up here in Alaska. I pretty much torture tested this thing on the first filling. Used up 6, 5 gal bottles of propane and ended up with a full pool and water about 75 deg F. worked excellent. The 20 minute safety timer was a little annoying but we just set a timer and switched it back on after it shut off. It ran pretty much continuouse all day long with no problems. Also put in an outdoor shower and it supplies that with excellent hot water. Currently I ordered a pump that can recirculate the water from the pool to the heater, it’s a 4.9 gpm at 60 psi. If you want a poor mans pool heater set up this is it! I can raise the poool temp about 4 deg F with a 5 gal bottle of propane on a 5200 gal pool. Filling it from empty I can take 45 deg tap water and turn it into 5200 gal of 75 deg water with 6, 5 gallon propane bottles.(a metric I wish I had before ordering) I will probably order another one of these heaters for next year so I can double my BTU input. Some comments asked about heating pool water and the effect on the longevity of the heater... I do see some crystals forming probably from the chlorine being heated, but at the comparative price of a pool heater, even if I have to buy one of these every couple years I’m coming out ahead $$$ wise. I’m handy and can probably flush it with some serious scale remover and restore it to full flow, if flow gets impeded, which it has not been to date. Over all I must say I’m impressed with this little unit for the price and the unusual application I purposed it for, which has worked out wonderfully.

After taking 4 minute military showers, (where you wet down, soap up,quick rinse)as I'm a full-time r.v er. I consider this to be one of the best purchases I've ever made. I did buy the 2.1 gallon at first. Just too small for my application but this 4.2 is fantastic. to be honest I think that 3 gallon per minute would work for an RV, but I'd rather go big than to be disappointed.

Easy to install and workes great for my outdoor shower .

We purchased our BW422LP directly from CampLux. Tech support was very diligent in contacting us repeatedly (phone tag over three days with persistent troubleshooting help) when we couldn't get the heater to work properly and it turned out to be a fluke with the BBQ LP tank we were using. Switched tank and it worked fine. Odd - the first tank worked just fine on an outdoor griddle with high BTU rating. Anyway, after two weeks of use without tugging, twisting, pulling, or otherwise abusing it - the free accessory shower hose failed with a lateral blowout. This happened with a maximum inlet water pressure of 60 PSI. We attribute this to just a random material failure. Well be switching to a longer and more flexible garden hose for the hot water outlet as soon as I can find one that fits the British threads on the adapter. Water flow must be constant to achieve a consistent temperature, so short bursts for filling a small container or a quick rinse on a horse may give you an unwanted temperature. However a small container won't kick you if it doesn't like the sudden difference in water temperature... Always test the water temp before using it on anything (inanimate or otherwise) that would be sensitive to an unexpected change to hot or cold.

Purchased this during Prime Day for $160. Purpose was for a temporary outdoor shower for my backyard when I had guests over to use the pool instead of everyone waiting in line to use the one guest bathroom that I have. Purchased a propane tank from costco and a hand truck from Harbor Freight. Attached it to a piece of 3/4 in plywood and attached that to the hand truck. Wala! Instant portable heated shower (see image). After reading other reviews, I thought I would need to buy a separate hand held shower and attach an on/off switch to control water. Turns out this unit's handheld had a switch and it had multiple spray patterns to boot. The heater works very well, almost too well. At the lowest setting in summer mode, the water was still very hot. I can't imagine how hot it would be if it was even set to the mid-temp setting let alone max heat setting. I was happy to see that it came with extra o-rings and quick connect adapters. I still bought separate quick connect adapters as the included ones were cheap plastic. While I'm happy overall, the included shower and hose feels very cheap. I will probably end up replacing it and adding some additional plumbing to run cold water to control the water temp more.

I built a make shift shower to try this out, this shower is great!!!! comes with everything you need to hook it up to a garden hose, the hook up has no swivel so I had to twist the hose in reverse (counter clockwise) then screwed onto the connection other wise it will back off and leak, the shower head and hose are cheap and the quick coupler connection is very fragile but that's fine I would replace it anyway.....follow the directions I scalded myself because I had it on high when I first started it, this went to 139 degrees almost instantly, have the water on full and gas at lowest setting then increase gradually, this will be a permanent fixture Im not using it for camping...I highly recommend this unit, I bought the 2.11 gpm for more water and because you can a rain cap on it..update: the temperature outside has got down to 30 degrees and water hose froze but the camplux unit is fine

Easy to install and works perfectly, even at 10,000 feet.

Used for our cowboy hot tub and it rocks! Warmed right up and fast!!! Very pleased so far!!!

Works very well. Very impressed at how quickly the water heats up. the flow rate and the shower head. Had trouble with leaks at the water outlet. Black plastic connector/bushing was faulty, We had an old shower hose which we connected directly to the outlet fitting and attached the supplied shower head to it. That fixed the leak problem.

It's hard to regulate the temperature. If I let it run the lowest it will go is in the mid 110's just way too hot for a shower. Couple notes: It's being used for an outside shower It won't start when the water flow adjustment knob is on max. Ground water temperature is in the 70's I have my well pump running at 50 PSI What can I do to to maintain a cooler temperature?

Shipping was fast. Very happy with purchase. It will most definitely extend our swimming pool season this year.

FAQ

The essential type (AY132 & AY132B) does not draw water by itself as it does not have a built-in pump. You will need a pressurised water source to feed water into the unit. Consider our Complete Pump Pack

To drain the device properly, please open the drain stern at the bottom right of the water heater, turning in a counter clockwise direction. Disconnect all incoming and outgoing water lines to ensure proper drainage from the water heater.

As long as you have good water supply.

Camplux Camper Kit has an adjustable water flow rate between 2.5-6 LPM (0.6-1.6 GPM). So, if you want a 5-minute shower, you will use between 12.5-30 litres (3.3-8 gallons) of water.

The unit was designed for portable outdoor use. It is splash-proof and can manage a little drizzle, however, prolonged exposure to rain/water will damage the internal components. We recommend our Pro Series which can install a weather-proof rain cap and has larger flow rate (from 1.58 to 5.28 GPM).

It uses gas to heat up water and can run off 9kg (20lb) BBQ gas bottles for 16 hours of continuous use.
