I purchased the Camplux BW264P120 Camping Water Heater Pump Kit to use as the sole heat source for an inflatable hot tub, completely bypassing the tub’s built-in electric heater. According to the hot tub manufacturer, heating water to 104°F using the built-in heater can take 12–24 hours, so reaching that same temperature in roughly 2 to 2.25 hours with this unit represents a significant increase in both speed and efficiency. On the initial fill of just under 200 gallons, the water started at 68°F and reached 104°F in about 2.25 hours using only this propane heater. Once at temperature, it easily maintains 104°F on Eco mode with low water flow and a low gas setting, as long as the air bubbles are off. When the bubbles are turned on and ambient air is introduced, the temperature will gradually drop, which is expected, but it is easy to compensate by increasing both water flow and gas output. The heater can comfortably exceed 106°F, at which point I simply shut off the 12V pump and enjoy the hot tub. With the tub covered, heat retention has been excellent. In a Southern California winter with overnight lows around 50–55°F, water heated to 104°F in the evening is typically still around 80–84°F the following evening without reheating, and the unit brings it back to 104°F in roughly 60–90 minutes. During setup, I removed the included shower head and run straight water flow through the heater instead. The shower head worked fine but restricted flow, which is not ideal for a hot tub application, so I now use straight 3/8-inch ID tubing for both supply and return, and this configuration has worked very well. The only issue I encountered was initial ignition, which turned out to be a dead D-cell battery for the igniter despite being brand new. Once replaced, the heater ignited immediately and has performed reliably ever since. Overall, this unit has been effective, consistent, and powerful enough to fully replace the hot tub’s built-in heater, and I have been very satisfied with its performance.

I bought this to use with an outdoor shower I built. It works great. It delivers hotter water than I can stand! It is of course adjustable to levels we prefer ands easily adjusts between my preference and my wife's
It was very easy to install and setup.

My husband set this portable system up for me to give the standard poodles a warm bath. Also purchased the portable raises dog tub. They love the warm bath. Have even used this to add hot water to the hot tub. Great foe washing large dogs, horses etc.

Easy to install, works great. Water pressure is better and setting the temp is much easier than one I had before. Seems to be better built. Using it on an outdoor shower. It works so well we find ourselves going out side to take showers.
Harry L.5/5Verified
I was very pleasantly surprised - this was trivial to install and it worked great right off the bat. It heats up FAST, putting out hot water in just a few seconds, and the flow rate is great.
I put a few stainless screws on the exterior wall of my cabin to hang this on, and it's easy to just lift it off to put it away when not in use.
Kennedy W.5/5Verified
It works fine as I remember, do not have to wait long to get the hot water. I was told by one of my friends who own one, and this water heater did upgrade our offgrid shower. Haven't used it since the winter, back to our cabin and about to connect it again.
Ted O.4/5Verified
We use it to fill the pool outside. Me and my children like it, give hot water fast and steady. I will recommend it to my neighbors.

I waited almost one year to make this review because I wanted to give a good evaluation of the product. I have used this product since January of 2023 in my shop. It has to be without a doubt one of the best purchases I have ever made. I could write a novel regarding this unit, but I'll just hit the high spots. It works. I have used every setting on the unit, and they all work nicely depending on the time of year, ground water temperature, etc. I think it's important to indicate I live in Southeast Georgia, so the temperature of the ground water is probably not as drastic as some other places in the US. Depending on the settings I will get a water temp out of the unit from the mid 80 degrees to a scalding hot 160 plus degrees (even in January). It has proven to be durable. Everything you need to set it up comes in the kit. Hook up a propane tank and water hose and you're in business. Since the igniter works off of batteries there is no need to have any electrical outlet near the unit. This unit has proven itself time and time again to be reliable and I cannot tell you how nice it is to have hot water without dealing with an electric hot water heater.

Located in Mesa Arizona. Product seems good on initial quality. I give it four and a half stars on the second day. My name is Lee. I'm a plumber buy trade. I just bought this Forest river 2010 travel trailer and the furnace and water heater failed the first week. So i disconnected the old 6 gallon tank heater that sprung a leak. I purchased this 2.62 gallon per minute unit based only on its rating and plenty of videos on you tube to check it out before purchase. it took a lot of labor the remove the old system and re pipe it for the outside use with this tankless heater. Unit functions / works well. its a little touchy to get the proper gas flow and water flow to the correct setting. Be sure to be careful the unit will produce extremely hot water140 degrees and more. the conditions i installed the unit is 70 pounds of water pressure which is very high. Due to high water pressure when you increase water flow towards high setting it would turn the unit off. You would have to reduce water flow and it would turn back on. If you had lower water pressure this would most likely not happen. The original travel trailer propane system was used to supply propane. I had to buy a 3/8" flare hose to connect to the trailer propane system. A separate bottle would have worked just fine. I wanted it to be a part of the original system of the trailer. Shower head was very good I replaced the shower head in my shower with it. To the plumbing aspect. I have pex 1/2" piping and cut out all the piping and valves for the old heater. I piped both hot and cold water with a hose bib / silcock which has mounting a flange and mounted them through the wall of my trailer. I purchased standard washer and dryer flex hoses for water connections and the 3/8" flare hose so it was a permanent installation but easy to disconnect and remove for travel or replacement. Unit mounted easy. I did have to install wood under the unit to make wall stronger. My travel trailer wall was just a thin piece of metal. One factor of note is that if you are trying to use two fixtures like the bathroom and kitchen sink at one time the unit cant really keep up with the higher demand for water. So temperature and water flow are reduced, but that's no big deal. In the end I like the unit... In Mesa Arizona we don't see freezing much so when its in the 30's cold and windy unit functions without issues. A noteworthy fact, there is no pilot flame its electronic ignition. I like 120 degree water. Unit takes 13 seconds to produce hot water at my kitchen sink in very cold conditions (30's - 40's). My sink is about 15-16' away. Its only 4 or 5 seconds for my bathroom which shares the wall the unit is installed on. one thing that that made me second guess the unit was the digital display. After I put the batteries in the display did not come on. I thought it was broken. The display will not be on until the heater is active and producing hot water. All in All the unit produces very, very hot water. Its propane efficient, again no pilot flame its electronic ignition. Unit is very quiet during combustion in comparison to other tankless heaters.Tankless heaters are the future of water heating. So as a comparison of the 6 gallon original heater and the Camplux heater, it's a no brainer. The original heater had a pilot and ran all day long to maintain the 6 gallons of water. The 6 gallons of water lasted 4 to 5 minutes when taking a shower. that's horrible and way to short. the original unit was really heavy, this unit is half the weight and much easier to work on. the old heater was a pain to work on being on the inside of the trailer. So, if your old system has failed just say good buy to it and put a modern tankless replacement for it and never run out of hot water. I got the unit and the needed materials for around 400.00 dollars. I did the labor so that's not factored in. the replacement for the 6 gallon heater was north of 600.00 buy itself.UPDATE:After using the heater for a few days, it had issues in my shower. when tempering the hot water with cold water in the shower somehow the unit turns off and stops producing hot water, but what i have realized is that the shower head that came with the unit greatly reduces water flow. so, I took of the shower head that came with the unit and replaced it with the one that was in my shower previous to my purchase of the tankless heater. this head dose not force the water through lots of small holes, so it doesn't affect the flow rate at the unit, thus it works properly. The unit is working well. You need to change the gas flow and water mixture when the outside temp changes but that's no big deal.Best of luck to you.Lee.

So far this heater works amazing as a temporary one for my hot tub. Just gotta keep the tub covered up with one of those plastic blue covers you can get cheap on Amazon until you got it hot enough then you are good to go. I can heat my 6x8’ tub up to 105 degrees in less than two hrs. Could get much hotter if I wanted it to be. All depends on your own comfort level. Definitely worth the money. You have to use a decent quality water pump for this application. Can get at Lowe’s, Home D or Amazon. Don’t leave it sitting out in the rain or it will rust out. Keep the heater covered up when not in use and should last for years.

My wife and I live off grid in New Hampshire. We bought this hoping it would work as advertised. It works wonderfully!! After a long day of working I hop in my shower, flip the switch and 2 to 3 seconds later I have all the hot water I can handle. It makes me feel human again! Thank you to the makers of this product. You cannot understand how thankful we are!!

Unit is protected from outdoor weather. I also have a water filter connected to the line before it enters this water heater. And guess what? Hot water keeping going on, we love this purchase for our cabin. Totally a 5 star upgrade!

I love my outdoor shower. I recently moved to Florida and love everything about it. After working outside all day, I can take a nice, leisurely shower and leave all the dirt outside.

I was skeptical but it’s just like a home shower in the woods. Wish the wand hose was a little longer but overall it’s awesome!

I’m having trouble with the pump. It works intermittently and pulses when it does work.

Hook up was extremely easy and boyfriend had it up and running within minutes and showering, very impressed with the water pressure and the heated instant water. Only issue was during a high wind day it ended up blowing out the pilot light so unit should be enclosed some how for those situations
Michelle R.5/5Verified
Havent used it yet , just set it up , seems like it will be fine.

Junk randomly heats up to over 140° do not recommend!!

The water heater works excellent for what we intended, an outdoor shower at the flower garden. The water temperature and pressure are fairly easy to adjust.I did have a small issue about 4 months after getting it, where the ignitor switch seemed to have failed. Talked with customer support, and they had me run a few tests, and then replaced my heater with a new one.To me,this is a perfect example a company that stands behind the products they sell.

Lost power for a few days and had no hot water. It was mid 30's just above freezing out. I set this up on my deck and ran a 50' hose from the outdoor spigot (with extremely cold water), and another 50' hose to my bathroom shower. The water heated instantly, and stayed a consistent temperature indefinitely. My wife, son, and myself all took showers that totaled approximately an hour of nonstop use. Water pressure & volume were same as the real shower, but this actually stayed hot the entire time, vs running out like a normal tank. I went with this larger size because I didn't quite believe how efficient it would be in very cold weather, but it preformed perfectly. I'm a little upset with the shower head though. It worked great the first day, but the threaded end snapped off the 2nd day. I'm still giving it 5 stars because even with the added cost of a new shower head, it's still worth the price I paid. If I have any other issues or it stops working than I'll update the review.
Joe S.5/5Verified
It works really well however it didn't last the first winter. The water valve on the inside cracked. I emailed camplux about replacement parts and just my luck they don't have replacement parts, so I had to buy a whole new unit.
Jessica A.4/5Verified
I love my water heater and it was working great until the pilot light stopped working. I contacted their customer support since it had only been a year since I purchased it, and they worked with me to resolve the issue. I will definitely stick with this company and I highly recommend them without reservation.
Art D.5/5Verified
This would be a full 5 stars if the hose was longer for the shower. I love it so much. It took my husband - who isn't use to putting in things like this - good while to install it and several YouTube channels. Once it was set up it was great though. Love how hot it gets. The pump is fantastic. I would definitely recommend it.
Jessica L.4/5Verified
Fast easy to install makes hot water now put it on my boat up here in alaska fantastic
Bart I.5/5Verified
Full time skoolie nomads. It works wonderfully. Our only issue is the temperature control, it's difficult to maintain a perfect temp if water pressure fluctuates. So I wired in a switch to just keep the pump running the entire time you're showering. Works great. The second part is if we have had the water in our tanks for a few days and the water starts to warm up a little, we can't turn this down low enough to not make it too hot. Basically if the water is 70°f or above, this will make the water too hot on low using a standard 1.5gpm shower head.I would not get this high powered unit for small campers or tent campers with weak water pumps. I have a 5.5gpm seaflo pump in my rig. I can keep my pressure up and plenty of water flowing that it works fine for me. If it's cold out and the water is colder, this thing has more than enough power to heat 35°f water to 110°f for a hot shower. My wife, toddler, and I have showered with it over a couple dozen times each and we still have propane left in a 20lbs tank. We take 10-20 minute showers each. So the operating cost is very low.The shower head that came with it was cool while it worked, but the selector switch broke within a week or so. Total garbage. Expect to just buy a new shower head.

Purchased this to adapt to my Coleman Spa, this thing heats water good. Also great for pre-heating water during filling for the spa so you don't have to wait the for Spa's heater to heat one degree per hour at a rate of 1600 watts!

FAQ
The essential type (AY132 & AY132B) does not draw water by itself as it does not have a built-in pump. You will need a pressurised water source to feed water into the unit. Consider our Complete Pump Pack
To drain the device properly, please open the drain stern at the bottom right of the water heater, turning in a counter clockwise direction. Disconnect all incoming and outgoing water lines to ensure proper drainage from the water heater.
As long as you have good water supply.
Camplux Camper Kit has an adjustable water flow rate between 2.5-6 LPM (0.6-1.6 GPM). So, if you want a 5-minute shower, you will use between 12.5-30 litres (3.3-8 gallons) of water.
The unit was designed for portable outdoor use. It is splash-proof and can manage a little drizzle, however, prolonged exposure to rain/water will damage the internal components. We recommend our Pro Series which can install a weather-proof rain cap and has larger flow rate (from 1.58 to 5.28 GPM).
It uses gas to heat up water and can run off 9kg (20lb) BBQ gas bottles for 16 hours of continuous use.
